What Does T.R.A.C.E. Do?

TRACE (Transatlantic Childrens' Enterprise) is an entirely non-profit self-help group for families and American military fathers (G.I.s) separated during WWII and in the following years. We have a network of contacts and friends built up over the years in the UK and USA, and will put you in contact with people who have had the same experiences.

To get started with TRACE, please fill in our membership application form. Members receive our lapel badge, and our annual newsletters - along with invites to our get-togethers!

You can find out more about the history and work of the founding members of TRACE from these books:

"This history follows the social consequences of the arrival of American G.I.s in Europe, first in the United Kingdom to train for the Invasion of France, then as the victors of battle on the European continent. It records how many of the British were dazzled by and fell in love with the soldiers. Although some married their sweethearts, many more did not. We can only guess at the number of children that the G.I.s left behind. Today, these children share the common goal of wanting to find the American father who holds the other half of their personal history."

"Finding my father has made the jig-saw of my life complete! I was forty years old when an aunt told me about my GI. soldier father. I felt like I had been hit with a sledge-hammer! I decided I would search for my father if it took the rest of my life to do it. My story will bring a tear to the hardest heart and hope to all those following in my footsteps!"
