![]() ![]() About UsSandy Peacham![]() T.R.A.C.E. - Transatlantic Children's Enterprise, is a self-help group founded by the late Pamela Winfield MBE in 1986 Sandy became T.R.A.C.E. treasurer when Pamela Winfield became ill a few years ago. Sandy began her search for her biological father in 1960. She had been very happily adopted but felt the need to find her roots. She only had the name Ralph Edwards and at the time there was no Internet to help her in her search. Over the 37 years of her search, she wrote hundreds of letters and made many, many phone calls. Her breakthrough came in 1997 when she found a brother of her father, uncle Max, in Panama City Florida. Even though her uncle rejected her and her father would not recognise her, she was given American citizenship. Finally with sheer persistence, she flew to meet her biological father in June/July 2001. Sandy found their meeting incredible and her father's wife and family were wonderful! Sandy and her father are in constant phone contact - her father being quite a character with a great sense of humour! In the end it took Sandy 37 years to find her roots, but her message to everyone searching is - "NEVER GIVE UP!" |
