Norma Jean Clarke-McCloud

T.R.A.C.E. - Transatlantic Children's Enterprise, is a self-help group founded by the late Pamela Winfield MBE in 1986

Norma-Jean Clarke McCloud is the membership secretary for T.R.A.C.E. and was handed the 'baton' by Pamela.

She is herself the daughter of a G.I. soldier and was born just after WW2. She did not find out about her birth father until she was forty when her aunt suggested it. This revelation hit her like a 'sledgehammer'.

Norma decided to search for her birth father with only the name of Larry. This search was likened to climbing a mountain, would she ever reach the top? Her search took her seven long gruelling years when she finally realised her dream!

Norma decided to write a book about her search to help all those in the future who may follow in her 'footsteps' called:

SOMEWHERE OUT THERE An English Woman's search for her G.I. father.

Somewhere Out There on Amazon

Norma writes the yearly newsletters and helps to organise the annual get-togethers at the IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM, London. It is hoped that all members that attend will help and support each other.

"We are all Kindred Spirits with the same feelings and emotions! People might say we shouldn't disturb our pasts but I disagree - there could be a happy ending, how will you ever know unless you try?"
